Greg Sammons (broadcaster)

Greg Sammons presents traffic and travel for talkSPORT, a national DAB/AM radio station. He also does the travel for a number of stations in the Midlands including BBC Coventry and Warwickshire, BBC Radio Derby, BBC Radio Shropshire, BBC Radio Stoke and BBC WM.

His show on Cross Rhythms is one of the best known and respected shows of its type.[1] The Rock and Hard Place is a weekly two hour rock and hard music show that profiles bands that are inspired by their Christian faith.

Greg is particularly well known for an infamous blooper, broadcast on air, concerning KY Jelly. In late 2008, a traffic broadcast was inadvertently interrupted by an advert for KY Jelly. He continued unflustered though still regularly faces ribbing from fellow colleagues. He is also known to do impressions of fellow broadcasters including Simon Temby. He finds the banter of fellow broadcaster Nick Arkell highly entertaining and looks up to him in every way other than height.

During his early twenties Greg tried his hand at comedy, both performing and writing. By his own admission he never made any ground by performing but did get some limited success writing. He made it to the final 40 of a BBC Talent initiative called Witty and Twisted, had material performed on stage and on BBC Radio 1.

He lives in Moss Side
